What is SER-KALLAI's Mission?

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to support individuals and communities thrive and build fulfilling lives through resources that nurture their overall sense of well-being, foster healing from trauma, build healthy relationships, and develop emotional resilience.

What does SER-KALLAI mean?

SER is the acronym of Social-Emotional Resources, and it also means “to be” in Spanish. KALLAI (קלי) is a Hebrew word that means light and resting by fire.


We believe all people have inner light and, even though sometimes it may be quenched due to life circumstances, we can be the safe platform where they can release their full potential and shine their light to the world.

This is our core foundation. We are committed to “be light” in a world that is in a huge need of hope, kindness and healing. Love is in the essence of everything we do with every interaction that we have.

This is our promise to go beyond self-interest and lead by creating opportunities that support the growth and transformation of our people. We build close relationships through service, leadership and care.

All our efforts focus on the well-being of the child, defending and securing protection from abuse, exploitation and neglect, and the importance of the physical and intellectual development through the attention to the role of the family, the community and the society as a whole.

This is our system to work together, to create greater impact and to scale transformation through effective communication, teamwork and social skills. We believe wisdom brings a brighter light working as one organism than the sum of the individual knowledge of our people.

This is how we show passion and commitment. We don’t settle for “good”, but we thrive for “great”. We constantly pursue the “better”, reinventing circumstances and processes as a matter of conscious choices.
